Happy 55th Birthday, Malaysia!

Boom, boom, boom, even brighter than the moon moon moon~ Firework! Happy 55th Independence Day, Malaysia :)

My brother loves Merdeka Day because FREE tolls for all types of vehicles using the LDP highway so we can travel a lot today haha. Fellow drivers, what are you waiting for? Start your car engine and go somewhere!

I've got something to share here. Olympic Games just ended but Paralympic Games has just started on 29 August! All the best to all Malaysian paralympians competing in London Paralympic!

Awesome video, awesome people!

"You are strong, you are fast, you are beautiful. Nothing can stop you..." touched my heart. While I admire their determination and perseverance in doing sports, I think it's time for me to go out and do some exercise. Motivation boost just refilled!

OK, that's all for now till next month. :D

What A Night

ooh, ooh, ooh we were so lucky that night!

Last Saturday, family, friends, and I went to church anniversary dinner. I was so happy to see some of old church friends to be around. It's been some time since we have seen each other. I think I overreacted too. Some kids have grown taller and looking good yeah! I guess in some certain ways I've been working it but still about the same height. I will because I can, I can because I want to, I want to because you said I couldn't. Believe it or not, we the older ones can still continue to grow 3 to 4 inches more over our lifetime so don't give up on growth. Before the event started, we spent some time on catching up on each other's stories. Somehow, I miss our times together. I wonder if anyone feel the same as I do.

There's celebration performance by church members, messages. We sang along with every song we know and then straight to feast time! We had our casual dining style, 8 dishes- from appetizer to main dish and finishing off with dessert. Then, came the time for the biggest surprise- lucky draw. We didn't expect to win anything. Everything was like normal until the number 0065 was announced. Mum was too excited until she gave me the wrong number omg. After that, we waited for few more prizes to be given out. Then, dad said, 'ho liao dim dui' in hokkien meaning good quality thing at the bottom part. We got lucky twice. I think my dad has extrasensory perception or any psychic power haha. Right after my dad said, "God will give you". the event host announced the number 0070, we shouted mirthfully. FIRST prize! Mum's friend got up to stage to claim the prize. It was a food hamper. Although it's not very expensive prize, we still felt very lucky and happy to share the joy of winning. After bidding friends farewell, we laughed all the way home.

A couple of things I learned:

1. I need to be more courageous. No matter what outcome is, you have to do to go through that challenge, right? I would definitely invite my friends to come for this kind of event next time!

2. Speak more blessings into people's life. A blessing is not a blessing until it is spoken so may God Bless you!

3. Now, to you who are reading this, good things come to those who wait because "ho liao" coming soon!

GBU :)

Sweat, sweat life

Stop comparing yourself to other people! Some people are great singers, some are really smart and others are great athletes. But none of them are, or ever could be you. You are one of a kind. So stop comparing yourself to other people! You can't be them any more than they can be you.

chubby face + dark circles under eyes *.*

Oh, yes, talking about one of my goals. I'm glad that I started jogging again since my holiday break cuz I really needed to burn off the extra body fats accumulated during my lack-of-exercise period. I found myself gaining more and more muscles around arms and calves. Good news or bad news? I'm gonna bring the house down haha! I want to get back in shape. I have promised myself no more snack at night or midnight unless I'm HYPO...no more physical or psychological setback! Recently, I tend to sweat behind the knee after I had completed exercise routine. Usually, that happens because it's hot!

I went for nice jog around the park. Here is a picture of the park heh. It was actually taken more than a year ago.

Pigeon- one of the bird species that is very common in Malaysia. I wonder how they become part of the bird world in Malaysia. May be they accidently fly to Malaysia, found their soul-mate and then settled down just like that omg. There must some great stories behind these birds! Many of the most common birds in were introduced by settlers. Some that were released to control agricultural pests have become pests themselves. Problems with birds entering or nesting on premises? Seldom people keep birds as pets these days. Once upon a time, when I was about 5 or so, my family had parrots as our pet birds. One day, when we came back from vacation, they all died. I can't remember the reason how that happened. I only remembered the feeling of losing something precious, something that is part of our daily life. Life goes on~

Well, I would try to take photo during night jog. Hopefully, everything will be alright during night time omg. It's almost the end of the month. And now, I almost reach the end of my holiday life. Therefore, I must accomplish the goals that I have planned. Life is a mission!

I would like to share a short film by Disney Pixar! It teaches a valuable lesson in a fun way.

So Close

It's been almost 1 month since last I posted about London Olympic and I'm back to blogging. I felt a bit bored as London's Olympic has already ended. I missed the time when I tuned to the Olympic channel on TV to watch the Olympic games and feel "Olympic heat". I was excited to watch Marathon athletes running London's streets and the beautiful scenery of London such as St. Paul's Cathedral, London Bridge. They had to run 42km in the rain and some athletes suffered leg injuries during the game.

The Badminton Men's Singles Final was great. Everyone in the house was sitting in front of TV, watching Dato Lee Chong Wei versus Lin Dan. I was impressed by Chong Wei's rapid adaptation to the match after his ankle injury in few months back. He took pain killer to overcome his pain.
Although he lost to Lin Dan in the final 19-21, he improved a lot as compared to Beijing 2008 Olympic. Dato Lee Chong Wei, my badminton hero! Lee Chong Wei remained cool whereas Lin Dan was a fiery character. Lin Dan showed his 'beh song' face when his shot were declared out. He did not hide his feelings. I couldn't agree more that he spiced up the final. His badminton fans carrying custom-made board his nickname 超级丹 which means, Super Dan (sounds funny in chinese when I linked the thought 林丹= 仙丹 magic pill). He took off his shirt, showed his hot physique, and ran around the court after winning hmm seems like stripping show. Haha, what an eye-pooping show! But, how come a professional player/ army like him can get tattooed? I got to do some research for that. In my opinion, both of them are great badminton players. I hope I can see them in the next match.

If I were given a chance to interview Lee Chong Wei, I surely would ask him, "How do you practice like you play?" I heard that he is going to retire 2 years after London Olympic. How I sincerely hope to see him win next time in other badminton games.

'until the end of world', 'LD' tattoo

I like this photo of Lin Dan and his wife, Xie XinFang. They were formally called "The Golden Couple".

Here's a photo of Chong Wei and his future wife, Wong Mew Choo, a former top women's singles player.

Here's an interview of Astro AEC News Anchor host, Cleo (郑婧婷) with Lee Chong Wei.

I stumbled upon this song 《热力战放》by Lin Dan and Zhou Xiao Ou. Those lyrics are inspirational. ♥

As ESPN commenter said: "Skills win you medals, but attitudes win hearts". Congrats to Lee Chong Wei and Pandelela Rinong, our Malaysian diving queen too! She went against all odds and brought back the bronze medal in the women's 10m platform diving event and became first Malaysian woman to win an Olympic medal. You guys made history and made us proud to be Malaysian. Watching The Olympics has inspired me not to give up so easily because sometimes there is no next time and sometimes it's now or never. If they can do it, can't I? They live a life of strict regimes and diets, and to top it all off, they face pressure and expectations from family, friends, fans and their respective countries. I have got to challenge myself physically, mentally, emotionally, and, spiritually to go further to release untapped potential. Dream BIG, and live it OUT!
